Gel - Violent Closure
This is some absolutely raging hardcore. Gel are like every genre of punk and hardcore I enjoy dropped into a blender set to puree, in the best way possible. They have a fairly old-school east coast hardcore vibe, at times. Real straight ahead riffs that split the difference between early punk and and hardcore. On the other hand, they also have a catchy crust element to them, which kind of reminds me of the best of Japanese hardcore. The band that keeps coming to mind as I listen to this was the Canadian crust band After the Bombs , albeit with a little more punk-rock melody. Either way, I think this is super cool.
